Ed Silvoso claims Non-born again Catholics Are Damned

In his 2007 book Transformation - Change The Marketplace and You Change The World, International Transformation Network head Ed Silvoso wrote, on page 62,

"Of all the nations in Latin America with a sizable born-again population, Guatemala is at the very top.  It is estimated that between 47 percent and 52 percent of the people are evangelicals - and when born-again Catholics are added to the numbers, the percentage can easily reach 75 percent. That means that three out of four Guatemalans are saved."

Silvoso's implication is clear - Catholics who are not born-again are damned to hell.

Ed Silvoso doesn't know what he is talking about. In John 3, Jesus is discoursing with Nicodemus and Nicodemus is confused about being 'born again'. Jesus explains:  7"Do not be amazed that I said to you, `You must be born again.' 8"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

So, according to Silvoso's own Bible, those who are born of the Spirit ("born again") can come and go as the wind; i.e., invisible, unseen. Unless Mr. Silvoso and 75% of Guatamalans are invisible and can miraculously transport themselves then they are definately not "born again".

And he doesn't know what hell is either, but that's another subject :^)
