I thought Florida was backwards, but this is so egregious that I imagine the jails down here only wish they could pull something like this.  I wonder how prevalent dominionist churches are in the area.  This is the sort of stunt that they'd support and brag about.

It reminds me of something I heard many years ago in a local church- they were advocating requiring a Bible for every inmate in the jails (reading the Bible would provide an impulse towards "right living").  This is only a step beyond that, and rather a natural step for dominionists.  

If they'll do it to inmates (which are a despised and generally ignored population), it's only a step to doing it to others... and only a little further to doing it to people in general.  The people there probably never thought about that- just 'fixing' the miscreants in jail.

It would be interesting to learn if there are dominionist ties behind this situation.  I suspect that is what we'll find.
