Cindy Jacobs--the new leader of the NAR

You may remember that Lou Engle has made moves of late to position himself as the new power in the religious right.  He's a member of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, a group of NAR leaders chaired by Peter Wagner.  For some time, Wagner has been the real puppetmaster of the religious right.  As I mentioned a few days ago, Wagner, Engle and Co. believe that Jesus can't come back until Christians take over the world and put down all opposition to them.  It's fascism, plain and simple.

Well, Engle's got a new boss--Cindy Jacobs, a gal who makes Wagner look sane.  In late 2008 or early 2009, Wagner stepped down as chairman of the ACPE--and endorsed Jacobs as his successor.

You may remember Jacobs from last year, when she tried to start something called "Light the Highway," which encouraged fringe charismatics and pentecostals to pray over their highways.  It started when she read Isaiah 35:8, which talks about a "highway of holiness."  She started an effort among churches up and down I-35 to pray over that area.  I-35 runs from Laredo to Duluth and runs through Austin, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, Des Moines and the Twin Cities.  She then tried to get it to roll national--but unfortunately, that turned out to be a massive fail.  How so?  Well, one would think that somewhere down the line, she'd have managed to get people along I-85 and I-40 in my neck of the woods to pray--but nothing of the sort happened.  And if they did, it didn't do much good considering North Carolina and Virginia went blue.

That effort is better remembered, however, for a Dallas man who was briefly pulled into the ex-gay boondoggle--and got talked into going off his meds for bipolar disorder.

To give you another taste about what this woman is all about, here's a "word from the Lord" she got the 2006 elections:

"This is a time that judgment must begin in the House of God. I am shaking everything that can be shaken - and unholiness cannot overthrow holiness. Do not think that your prayers are not availing in the heavens, because you do not get the answers in the way you think they should be given. Your prayers are pressing out the wickedness in my people first. There is more that is going to be exposed of leaders in homosexuality and sexual wickedness. The court of heaven has been convened through your intercession. I am shaking the church, political parties and all things that can be shaken."

I would say to you, "I never lose - and I have not lost this election. Unrighteousness is now on trial and I say to you, sanctify yourselves church, for there is a movement of the fear of the Lord about to fall on the land. I say to you this is a time of circumcision and it is painful. My sword is cutting away all hidden and secret sin."

Display:
Peter Wagner is still Convening Apostle of The International Coalition of Apostles (which went through a shakeup last year - many names dropped, many new ones added). And he's still head on the Wagner Leadership Institute.

My guess is that when Wagner passes on, or steps down, Cindy Jacobs, Chuck Pierce, and Dutch Sheets will form a troika. But Wagner's a wise leader - he may have already have established how the succession of power will go.

Also, there are many NAR potentates, and a number don't show up as immediately related but are nonetheless part of the power structure. Especially from the Lausanne and post-Lausanne (after AD2000) movements - people such as Luis Bush and Dick Eastman.

Meanwhile, Ted Haggard has identified a number of prominent megachurch superstars such as Rick Warren, T.D. Jakes, Bill Hybels, Larry Stockstill, etc. as being in the movement. Warren's a power center all to himself. He did a dissertation under Wagner, on church growth. [As an important side-note, another key influence for Warren  was Peter Drucker.]

All of which is to say, I don't think it's so clear cut.

Cindy Jacobs is one of the best leaders. The leader is the one that makes the team proud and involves every person of the team to do the work and I'm able to check https://bestbritishwriter.com/myassignmenthelp-com-review/ for quality work.
