The Pope at it again, part duex
According to the story, this information stems from a document Benedict wrote in 2000 before he was Pope. There is question as to why it was released now, especially considering there was apparently nothing new in the document. Here is the ironic portion or the story:
Despite the harsh tone, the document stressed that Benedict remains committed to ecumenical dialogue.
So, on the one hand the Pope is saying that his way is the only way and all others are defective and on the other hand he is saying that he is still committed to inter-faith dialogue. For some reason I have a hard time taking this seriously. This is a man who has opposed the Vatican II reforms since the moment they were conceived and is doing everything in his power to undo the good that was done there and by his predecessor. I truly wonder why this man was selected to lead the Roman Catholic Church. In my opinion Pope Benedict XVI's leadership may very well cause irreparable to the Church he claims to love. This man is trying to turn back the clock and nothing can be done to stop him.
