Westboro Baptist Church to protest the funeral of Jerry Falwell
 "There is little doubt that Falwell split Hell wide open the instant he died." Thus reads the flier from godhatesfags.com, the WBC & Fred Phelps website. This website has been disseminating graphically hateful and horrifically bigoted "preaching" for years. When I first discovered Fred Phelps at the tender age of 12 I was traumatized. Now, I'm almost amused. Almost. Despite a lack of credibility to any rational person due to their hysterical hate and bigotry, the problem with websites like his is that their existence means at least one person agrees with what is written on them. Continuing to read the WBC flier: "...WBC has warned Falwell through the years, that if he did no repent, we would picket his funeral...WBC warned Falwell in writing, including theological essays, news releases, and personal letters" - letters where Falwell is accused of being a heretic, a Hell-bound Judas. Falwell is one of a group of so-called "Fag-Enablers," keeping company with the likes of Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, and basically anyone else who is not enough of a blatant, offensive, hateful homophobe. I was taught that hate is nothing but misdirected fear. I feel sorry for Fred Phelps and everyone else who is so obviously struggling with their own denial and inner demons.
