I tried to post it to the Events section, and it ended up on the front page, in spite of my having selected 'upcoming events' on the dropdown.

So, I deleted what I thought was that, which was actually the diary, then deleted the front page story.

I just reposted it as a diary.

I think - for the meanwhile - people will have to post in the "upcoming events" and "diary" sections independently.

I think it's important that events like this go in both sections - diaries and events as well, but configuring will take a bit longer.
